Judy Fraser has covered more ground than most, in her lifetime, both internally and externally. This shy, self-effacing woman is  well known throughout the world for her pioneering work in the field of spiritual psychotherapy.  She has a big following of people who have benefited from her unique insight into their problems and an equally large number still seeking her advice and support. Now aged 68, Judy felt it was time to retire from the front line of working with soul sickness to make herself available to people who still need her help by way of the printed word. So a double publication has been prepared – ‘Second Aid’ and ‘The Soul Searcher, Scenes from My Life’.

Second Aid

In the mid-Eighties, following an intensive seven-year course at the College Of Psychotheraputics near Tunbridge Wells in Kent and further seven years giving talks and running courses under its auspices, Judy struck out on her own. She formed Second Aid, an organisation dedicated to providing support to people in times of emotional crisis through the media of counselling, meditation, prayer, discussion and increased self-awareness.

People suffering from a whole host of problems like bereavement, grief, stress, abuse and relationship failures were given help and guidance to deal with their difficulties, resolve them and find inner peace. It’s a service for which many thousands of people will be eternally grateful for her intuition and wisdom. And now this wealth of experience is going to be available in the form of a self-help manual. Judy kept detailed notes of  her work over the years. These are now being used to prepare a volume of help and advice for people who still need the benefit of her wisdom but cannot seek it personally.

During the 30 or so years in which Second Aid was in existence, Judy travelled the world in response to calls for help and healing. On more than one occasion, she visited Holland, Switzerland, Canada, – she worked for the NHS and social services in various parts of the United Kingdom, and companies throughout Europe and Canada. She also ran a great many overseas courses and trips to sites of spiritual significance including frequent visits to Upper and Lower Egypt, the United States, Greece, Macedonia, Mexico and Guatemala.

In its later years, the organisation was located in Majorca and people from all over the world travelled to her healing centre instead of Judy going to visit them. She is genuinely known throughout the world and great many people still want to access her teachings and apply them to their current problems.

The Soul Searcher, Scenes From My Life

In addition to this manual of spiritual teaching and guidance, it was felt that readers would like to know more about Judy herself and discover how she gained her unique insight and healing knowledge. So she sat down and wrote her life story. With typical modesty and lack of self-importance, she refuses to call this her autobiography. Instead, it is called Scenes From My Life. But what a life and what a story! Judy’s account of her journey from a baby abandoned at birth during WW2 to a woman who is globally known and loved for her wisdom, integrity, kindness and humour is a fascinating one.  It’s a companion volume to her teaching, giving an honest insight into the real person behind her life’s work.

The Soul Searcher shows how Judy developed her spiritual awareness from a very early age. It tells how she coped with a whole host of terrible difficulties including rape, her children’s life-threatening illnesses and marital infidelity. And it relates the heart-warming story of how she was reunited with her parents, both of whom she believed to be dead. Together, these three themes paint a portrait of a truly indomitable woman whose own life story mirrors her teaching. She healed herself by trusting, cleaning her inner self and following her intuitions, and finding her birth family. As she says during one deeply-moving chapter in which she has just met all the brothers and sisters she never knew she had, she had proven the information contained within Second Aid beyond all shadow of doubt in practice within so many lives.

Judy's Story:

The Natural Sensitive

As a tiny infant in her emotionally cold adoptive home, Judy found inner comfort by looking at the shapes in the fire and the clouds in the sky. She turned inside herself to find the peace and emotional strength to cope with all the anxieties and unhappiness of her outer life. Uniting her inner and outer experience was a strategy that paid dividends in later life. It gave her the ability to cope with anything that the world might send her in her personal life.

Judy also had a natural flair for reading other people’s emotions and understanding how they were feeling – a gift she also developed at a very young age. Put together, her understanding of the importance of the inner life and her powerful capacity to intuit others made her perfectly able to see to the root cause of people’s emotional problems. She is often described as a natural sensitive, meaning that she is aware of and in touch with other levels of consciousness that most of us never experience.

Roller Coaster Ride

Judy’s life story is told in down-to-earth prose and is rich in everyday detail and human experience. At the same time, it is an extraordinary story of one woman’s courage and steadfastness in the face of a roller-coaster ride of constant adversity. Judy was born into an orphanage and transferred as a toddler to a cold and unloving adoptive home. Dealing with her alcoholic adoptive mother for most of her childhood, she was raped as a teenager and then got married young, only to be deserted by her husband and left to bring up their baby son alone. Three more partners and husbands followed, leaving her a single mother of four by her mid-30s and reduced to living in a Women’s Refuge.

Determined not to allow her own children to be brought up in care as she had been, she fought and worked like a tiger to provide for them and bring them up in a happy home, eventually succeeding in her plan. They have all grown up to be happy and stable adults with families of their own. The constant betrayals Judy experienced in her lifelong search for love were borne with astounding bravery and resilience...and she has finally reaped the reward. Not only does she now have all the love of her children and grandchildren, she is also the object of huge affection and respect from all the people she has helped through her work over the years.
